MAXIM TRULOV &
KSUSHA LASTOCHKA
BIOMaxim Trulov and Ksusha Lastochka were born in 1991. Before working together, Ksusha studied animation in St. Petersburg, and Maxim painted on the streets of Nizhny Novgorod
Similar
styles and the subject matter of the artworks allowed the artists to collaborate and form a duet. Now the recognizable artistic style of the artists is based on two principles: black and white colour scheme and graphic images. Together, the artists created a ctional universe of characters, adapting their individual style to the one of their partner. At the moment, the universe of Maxim Trulov and Ksusha Lastochka has about a hundred characters. The geography of the universe is varied, ranging from the Norwegian shores populated by giants to small Canadian towns colonized by skaters. The universe grows and develops every year.
The artists have been conducting joint exhibition activities since 2017, practising in various forms and techniques. The favourite material of the authors is wood, and most of the iconic exhibitions presented carved wooden objects of various scales.
